Here's a math problem for you - Jacob__mybb_import1 - 04-09-2011

What is the second derivative of f(x) = 4x^2+2x+1?

If you get it right, you get....the satisfaction of having solved an advanced math problem!

Using all the power of my mind im able to say that those are numbers :P

*looks at math problem*
Dont you have something a little bit easier?

RE: Here's a math problem for you - Jacob__mybb_import1 - 04-09-2011

y=4x+1

What is the x-intercept?

i cant :B

I'm no good at calc, mostly because I never attempted to learn much of it. Using my quickly googled question however, I think I know how to get the derivative.
4x^2+2x+1
4x^2 + 2x
(2)4x^2 + 2x
8x^2 + 2x
8x + 2x
10x

Eh...that doesn't make sense. I'm going to try and learn it from a book instead of from ehow

And x-intercept?
y = 4x + 1
0 = 4x + 1
-1 = 4x
-1/4 = x

Is it -1/4? o.o

I'll solve it for what I THINK is it.
f(2) = 2^2 = 4*4 = 16 .
f(2) = 2*2 = 4 + 16 = 20 + 1 = 21.

f(2) = 21
{(2, 21)}

x= y-1 : 4

I got it? Big Grin

My Robotic mind has fried, I think I need a new motherchip.

Scripter got it right. Everyone, give him + rep points!

Login, the first problem is a calculus one... you probably haven't learned it yet.
