This is caused by your game files getting messed up, which can happen due to you closing the updater before it finishes, having hardware problems or for no reason at all. I just updated the game which should give you a fresh copy.

I tried Chrome and FireFox and the flashing problem happens, and on Safari it just says starting game for a long time
