It's not that bad, but it needs a lot of improvements. Buildism's original design hurts my eyes now.

Whenever I see a 100% flash website my eyes tend to bleed. Flash is terrible for entire websites.
So are you saying this is AWFUL?:

Flash websites use up much more memory than most other websites. Use Javascript instead.

Flash is good when used in moderation, but it has a bad reputation because designers like to use it to show off how much "cool" stuff they can stuff into one web page. Like this, for example: http://nativenewyorker.com/

Yes. It takes five minutes to load and then when it's done it loads some more.
