Music Thread - Jacob__mybb_import1 - 12-04-2012 I'll start it this time, since I actually made something that doesn't sound like my dog dancing on a piano. It's not finished yet, but I'm going to use it as the theme song for my next game when it's done. I wasn't expecting that genre of music, since I tend to make electronica, not orchestral. I doubt I could make strings and brass work as well for me as they seem to for you. ![]() It sounds great, but the tempo shift at around 0:48 threw me off for a moment the first time I heard it, and it took a moment to unscramble the rest of the song in my mind. If I had written that, I probably would have put a resonating cymbal ride there, or some other transitional effect. But then, I tend to do that about twice in every song I write, so I may use that kind of thing too much ![]() Also, the melody is awesome, and the choice of instruments works very well with it, but the bass and brass sound just the slightest bit... I don't know a good word for it. Unrealistic? Like a keyboard? Nothing awful or anything, and I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't notice; I've just got a very perfectionist mind when it comes to music. Oh, and one more question. Are you still using LMMS? If so, what are you using for the piano in the beginning? I can't seem to get a good realistic-sounding one. RE: Music Thread - Jacob__mybb_import1 - 12-04-2012 I use FL Studio now, it's EVM Grand Piano and a Kawaii Piano soundfont (maybe not that one) combined. The only thing I found weird was the tempo shift like Ghosty said and the strings felt a bit out of step with the rest of the song. RE: Music Thread - Jacob__mybb_import1 - 12-04-2012 Just uploaded an improved version, I used better VSTs for the strings and got rid of the tempo shift. RE: Music Thread - Ghosty - 12-05-2012 Now the strings are a tiny shift too early. I hear them cutting in an instant before they should. I like the way you changed the tempo shift, though. After that part it sounds awesome, definitely title theme material. RE: Music Thread - Void - 12-05-2012 Can I have a copy of the music files? I could see if I could mess with it. RE: Music Thread - ijfeswijfae - 12-12-2012 This is my favorite rap/hiphop song. The lyrics are really deep and the beat is the sickest that my endorphins had ever been released to.
