Adding friends- Long story short, add friends...
Favoriting games- There is a yellow favorite button under the thumbnail of the game which says "FAVORITE" in which you can click to add the game to you're favorites list.

There is a "Buddy" feature in the User Control Panel.

As for favoriting... that can wait until we have enough good games to favorite.
