Deleting or locking? - Scripter - 06-30-2011 I see a few threads every once in a while that serve no real purpose (such as telling others to go on buildism chat, even though it's a day old). Now, those threads are usually locked, but wouldn't it be a better idea to delete them? I am pretty sure there is no con to deleting threads like those, but most of the time they're locked =/ RE: Deleting or locking? - Sazaho - 06-30-2011 Gotta say, it is wierd- But maybe we lock them because they were TRYING to make a real point in the forum, but failed. SO we let them keep their post number instead of deleting it That's my scenario anyways. RE: Deleting or locking? - Jacob__mybb_import1 - 06-30-2011 Locking threads is good for showing the thread author (and anyone else who reads it) that posting that kind of stuff isn't a good idea. After a thread has been locked for a day or two, move it to the archive: Also, here is the suggested punishments thread: http://buildism.net/forum/Thread-Suggested-punishments RE: Deleting or locking? - Login - 07-01-2011 (06-30-2011, 02:34 PM)Jacob_ Wrote: Locking threads is good for showing the thread author (and anyone else who reads it) that posting that kind of stuff isn't a good idea. I suggest a delete on a thread there. |
