I always thought that education sites or governmental sites had ".org" - Walrus - 11-12-2012

2DWorlds is a game

so why do we have .org instead of .com or .net? Well actually this is educational, but it's classified as a game.

Well, the way it really works is:

.organization
.commercial
inter.net
.government
.unitedstates
.unitedkingdom
.educational
.bizness [sic]

Wow, Ghosty/Qwerty, you are extremely knowledgeable.
I was taught in the 2nd and 3rd grade in computer class about those ending site domains, and I couldn't understand a word the teacher was saying.
xD
I'm telling you, I've learned more about computers here online than I ever did in real life.
Also, isn't 2DWorlds a community, thus it would end in ".com"? This is confusing.

.org, .com, and .net domains have been open to the general public since the mid-90's according to Wikipedia, so there's no real distinction anymore.

Also, it's commerical, not community -- I typo'd the original post.

It's ok.
And does it cost more money to run a site with ".com" rather than ".net" or ".org"?

I don't believe it does.

Oh ok.
