I myself thought it was a little to much but I thought that the items where pretty cool...
Also, What happened to the Currency (Didn't care much for that either but curious)

You mean charecter parts? I'm not sure why those were removed.
However, Bits were removed since users were spamming with their skins for Bits. You really couldn't do anything with them either beside buy other skins.
