My firewall is turned off and nat type is open - Pheedy - 08-04-2011

Doesn't that mean I don't have to port forward? Saying that I should be able to host a server, correct?

I think you still need to port forward... I'm not sure though.

You have to go through your router, not your computer.

derp. router's firewall is off.

when the firewall is off, all ports are open, so i don't think i need to port forward. i'll just test it out ^_^

It sounds like we are trying to have a RSPS. XD

Port Forwarding tells your router to tell incoming connections to your router for Buildism to be redirected to your computer. Turning off your firewall does nothing but making your computer vulnerable to attacks.

The firewall has nothing to do with ports.
I have my firewall on, and I need to set up the port forward.
If you have firewall off, you can't expect your router to know to forward that port.
