And you can't copyright the idea of a game. You can patent abstract methods and techniques for implementing that idea (but only in the US, since other countries are smart enough to realize that this restricts innovation), but if there is evidence that someone before you invented what you are trying to patent, either the application will be denied or someone can oppose it and get it invalidated.

In short, people will always believe SOMEONE is copying SOMETHING from someone.
In my opinion, features like Terrain Generation are concepts meant to be used in various games, say if "copying" was illegal, we wouldnt have all these FPSes because [insert FPS here] has guns.
