Remember how x10 went down a while ago, with what Kieron thought was Luckyone DDoSing it? Maybe this had something to do with it:

x10Hosting Wrote:Disk Space Policy Change
Effective immediately all non upgraded packages have been hard limited.
High Risk Countries: 500MB (Previously Limited)
Everyone Else: 1GB

Due to excessive abuse by customers using accounts for personal file storage, warez, movies, etc we will no longer offer the unmetered feature immediately after signup. We will still offer unmetered storage by request as long as your account qualifies with the requirements listed below.

Unmetered Requirements
- Account must be one week old
- You must be using at least 500MB of your storage space
- You must have a working website online that falls inline with our terms of service

If you meet the above requirements just open a support request and a community support representative will upgrade your account.

This will allow our legitimate users to grow their sites with the unmetered features without being affected by the constant abuse the servers have been enduring. Removing hundreds of gigs of warez every few days takes a lot of our time and puts a lot of strain on the servers. We believe this is a fair compromise that will not actually affect anyone legitimately needing the unmetered space option.

Basically, it's saying that unless you're using more than 500 MB of data on your x10 site, you're being limited to 1 gig to prevent massive lag caused by unneccessary files being uploaded. But if you get over 500 MB, and you actually have a website, you can send them an email and they'll upgrade you back to unlimited data.
