There's about a minute and a half of operatics before the good stuff, but I don't think I've yet heard as awesome of an electric guitar song as Moon Over the Castle.

Agree, But Ronnie James Dio (composer of both songs I posted) is considered the Father of metal, songs like those ones stablished the base where metal stands.
Also he became the lead singer of Black Sabbath in the 70's, composing songs for the band like:
