But shouldn't a closed back design that goes over the ears have less sound leaking, at least in theory?

Dunno maybe it's the amp doing something in it.
Also I found out how to counter act the distort on my sound card. If I put the pre-amp low but the volume on my computer high it will be the same loud volume, but smooth because the preamp is lower.

I'm not running any soundcard and I can boost up to +24db
