In my opinion, it doesn't matter how you name your files. a1.class b1.class and then b2.class it's quite simple and much faster to code.

Not when you don't know what's in each file.

But do you even know if he knows that? I'm pretty sure if he couldn't remember the names, he'd change them.

It's actually not that much faster to code, and it makes things much more confusing while you're writing the code.
