Unfortunately I am stuck with XP. Although that's better than what I was stuck with 3 years ago -- Windows '98.

As for CheckDisk -- That happens not too uncommonly, usually after a system crash. Used to happen all the time with '98. All that came out of it was I was mad I'd had to wait 15 minutes for it to reboot and that I might've lost some work.

Windows 7 is old.

Use Ubuntu 11.04.

XP and 7 are good.

I hate Mac. I'd prefer Ubuntu.

It happened again. This time it had a BSOD at the end of the recovering, and a few errors when trying to get it to try again.

Eventually, I just ended up using a restore disk to reset it to how it was right out of the box. So I have to reinstall everything.
The funny thing is just a few days before I backed up my Minecraft save for no reason.
