Did you hear about the meteor that exploded in Russian skies?

It was during this morning that it happened.

About a thousand were reported to be injured.

Also, today was the day that asteroid 2012 DA14 passed by Earth just 17,000 miles away.

Yeah, me and Paradox mentioned it in the chat yesterday afternoon. NASA says it's the biggest 'atmospheric event' (it wasn't a true impact, because it broke up) since the infamous Tunguska Event in 1908.

Which is, interestingly enough, a complete coincidence. They passed by in opposite directions, though I can't remember which was heading north and which was heading south.

It wasn't a meteorite and an asteroid, they were just spaceships chasing each other. One got shot down and was pulled into Earth's atmosphere.

Except that's false and I dislike you for spreading the most absurd BS that I've heard this weekend about an event that a thousand people were injured in.

The thermal shields obviously failed due to the hit from the other ship.
