I'm South African and lived there for 2 years, and go every year to it, I don't understand why so many British-white Afrikaaners are going to the hellhole AUS, it's filthy and ugly.
A girl in my class is from Brisbane, AUS, another is from NZ, they are nice I suppose, but their parents are certainly very very moderate and slightly racist.
In my old prepatory school in Cape Town, SA, it was marvelous. The teachers were simply incredible, the kids were not bullies, I was treated very well, even though I have and had a severe case of Tourette's.
Cape Town is one of a kind - so is South Africa.
I also used to think that I had a British accent when I was younger, and in the 1st and 2nd grade, everyone used to ask me "Where am I from?", I used to say the USA, until my parents told me that I was South Africa XD My dialect is very distinct.
South African accents are like New Zealand accents -- with a Dutch touch to it.
