This started when there was contact between the two leading drivers coming to the checkered flag, last corner, last lap. Only Tony Stewart avoided the mayhem that followed -- every other car on the lead lap was either involved in the calamity that sent Kyle Larson's car into the catchfence, where the front end was sheared off by a closed access gate, and went flying into the seating area.

People don't seem to realize how dangerous racing is.
