Border around the character?

As can be seen in this picture, there seems to be a restricting border around the character which cuts my tool short, I was wondering whether this can be countered or if it is just a point of the game that you will have to bear with. If you are going to post a reply to this thread- don't say to resize my tool as it becomes squished and bad looking.
