There are several car failures that every NASCAR driver hates to have happen in any race.
1 ) Brakes fail; always a problem on small tracks
2 ) Blow a tire; this can rip apart the sheet metal, sheet glass, and everything else in a 2-foot radius, like Denny Hamlin's car today
3 ) Throttle sticks; this usually results in a hard head-on collision and was responsible for the deaths of Kenny Irwin Jr. and Adam Petty 10 years ago
4 ) Engine blows; no matter what the reason it happens it kills the car
5 ) Run out of fuel; many races have been lost by this
6 ) The steering wheel sticks in one direction; see #3.
