I think your biggest problem is you're using the wrong type of send. I forget the terms because it's been months since I used PHP but there's a type that adds on to the URL that's good for things like search pages and then there's a type that keeps that information hidden that's good for things like chats and comments.

Oh yeah...post would be better.
And maybe if users couldn't edit their username with Opera.
I'll patch those and bring it back.
