That might be a bit controversial -- Christianity spread in and from Europe during the Dark Ages. The Islamic Arabs of the Middle East and Northern Africa at the time were quite advanced in comparison. "True" science didn't begin until Copernicus, Gallileo, and Newton, and then the Christian Europeans didn't spread science to India and Australia and the Americas, they spread themselves, displacing the natives.
