Because if anyone can join, then that will make it so spam is more likely to happen. Think about that other site, ROBLOX, that's how it went at the very beginning, want proof? check out all the banned 06 users. We just need a basis - I'd be willing to help the approval.

Here's the thing, they have to add information about them, i.e. "I like helping" sort of like a bio. Or something along those lines.

Until ... 3 days ago, this wasn't a problem AT ALL. About 4 days ago me, Interwebs, Sazaho, and Paradox were made the first 4 moderators besides Jacob_. Paradox made a post mentioning CubeBomb, Interwebs checked it out and mentioned Buildism there, I invited a friend of mine from ROBLOX to join... and suddenly BOOM! Instant popularity boom.

Look at it this way. Until this troll outburst, the biggest problem news in the sites history was an account named ODer and InternetGuy faking being hacked.
