Quoting can be very annoying when you quote from a lot of quotes - so try just saying their name.
i.e.
Jacob_ [ some cool idea ]
@ Jacob_: Sounds good.

It's OK to use it every now and then, like, for two or three quotes - but four and up is quite annoying.
