It's common sense that a slower community would obviously take a while before action is taken against this spam, and these bots spam links to these sites mostly to increase the page ranking of said sites because they hardly gain profit from sending only private messages through email.

We've once had a fairly active Tinychat room, and a few people such as me and Franco went on microphone, and Glome was on cam twice.

Internet Relay Chat. It's a very popular chat method that literally every OS supports. Not to mention it can be implemented in programs (Eg. the IRC mod for minecraft that allows to you to chat in IRC rooms via your client). And it's much more powerful than tinychat.
