Is Windows 8 worth upgrading to?
#1
I'm not really sure, I've heard that it's used for people who commonly use social-networks, I don't. I just want a faster OS mainly, but I don't know if I would have to re-download everything if I install a new OS (which would be Windows 8).

I don't know anything about Windows 8 besides its GUI, and it looks awfully Xbox-esque.

I kind of dislike Windows 8. They give you that crappy start menu, wich shows you a bunch of garbage that I don't need, like "app store", "Xbox live" "weather forcast", "music", ectc.

If you don't have a touch-screen/tablet, you don't want Windows 8. Seriously. Stick to 7 if you have anything else.

All of the bad reviews toward Windows here are pitiful. It's worth going for. The resource management changes is very nice for OS speeds (like very fast booting). If you don't like the new menu, there are tons of programs to change the start menu back. I personally like the hotcorners features.

The full version isn't free, but I think you can get demo versions.

It was, but I don't think the free preview is available anymore.
There's always other ways of obtaining it...

Ah nevermind on me getting it then, I'll just stick to Windows 7.

You could probably get a nice pirated version of it, but I don't do illegal stuff. I'm a good oak tree!
