I made a tool and out it in the starter inventory, but when I play after saving it won't show up...

You sure? It should spawn with you... Try again? Kill yourself/Remove player right after inserting the tool in the Starter Inventory.

Try Build mode and click "test player" (or whatever it's called)
If it doesn't work it didn't get uploaded properly.
