I won't be able to forum much or take moderator action due to my laptop being completely un-accessible. the battery has literally died and as soon as you take the charger out, it turns off.

Yah, and you can't access it. Dad's sorting out the problem, he hasn't really let me see what's wrong with it since he found out about the problem.
Also, I forgot to mention that I'm currently at my nan's.

I have an idea- If my sister doesn't find out i'm in her room, I can use the pc that was usually always in use
but lags
and is not even plugged in
with every available plug plugged

We actually had to take our laptop apart and solder the connection so that we could charge it at all. And this was after we got it back from the Circuit City technical help department (yes, that Circuit City, at that time) and we've had to redo it several times and we still have to position the cord funny to get it to charge.
I hope yours is easier to fix.

I think we can just get a new battery, aslong as it hasn't damaged the computer too much.

Trust me, if your battery damaged your computer, you'd know it.
