Random Terrain Generator

I think a really cool option would be a random terrain generator.

Like you could press a Generate Terrain button and it would make a random one.

Another cool idea would be flowing liquids. Like water can flow down hills etc...

Water flowing -- now THAT would be an impressive update that would take almost literally forever to make.

And as for random terrain -- well, you've seen what that looks like on R, right? Block-block-littleblock-bigblock-block-bigblock-block-tinyblock-hugeblock-block-block?

Yeah that would be pretty awesome. Another cool thing with water is that it could create a splash when jumped in even though this could be made with lua it would make a nice feature.

I'm talking about using the new Terrain tool to make it.

As in making random hills etc..

I think water is way too basic. It should atleast make sounds...

Can be done with Lua. Check out KeyBored's place. It has splash -- might add sounds once I'm done making everything else.

Type game.Terrain:generate() in the console after adding terrain. (you can do it more than once until you get a terrain you like).

I might add a UI for doing this in the next few days that allows you to change the smoothness of the terrain.

I'm not smart enough to make flowing water. Tongue I could make a bunch of frictionless particles with special rendering and call that water... but then there's surface tension and buoyancy and all that stuff people go to college for years to study. Big Grin

Thanks jacob!

But what about the splashing and splash sound idea. Smile

Anyway I think a UI for it would be good, you could probably put it in the World drop down menu.
