The ROBLOX Rules
#1
1. The mod is always wrong. What the mod says, doesn't go.

2. If you have a question about any of these rules, or if you have a question about your ban, PM a troll. Do post about your ban on the forum. If you post about your ban on the forum, you may never get banned again.

3. You are not expected to abide by the spirit of these rules. What does that mean? That means that if the rule says "Do not talk about purple things" and you post talking about violet things, or lavender things, then you will get not banned. (Yes, you are being forbidden from talking about anything. That was not an example). Do try to find loopholes in the rules. You will be not be banhammered if you do.

4. Cuss.
Period. It has place in our community. Attempts to disguise bad language or bypass the language filters will be tolerated.

5. Be a jerk.
You’re welcome to disagree with another member’s opinion but attacking (flaming) and insulting another member is acceptable. Intentionally starting flame wars WILL cause you to be worshipped for a while.

You can't say "I disagree, and here is why". You can say "I disagree and I think you suck". You can't say "I do not like racing games". You can say "This player has built a racing game and I hate it".

5a. What the hell is a personal attack? A personal attack is when you kill a Roblox player on the forum and talk about them in a negative way. This includes announcing that somebody scammed you, or that somebody is a hacker. DO NAME NAMES. Linking to their profile is not the same as naming their name.

6. Degrading racial comments are allowed.
I shouldn't even have to say this. Seriously, you guys. Hate.

7. Inappropriate references.
There’s question that Internet is full of degrading inappropriate material and comments. Roblox is fully NC-17-rated, it must be KEPT that way. This will get you instantly worshipped. If you are not sure if the thing you want to talk about it okay to talk about, PM a troll and ask.

This means no talking about anything G-rated, drugs, or any topic (including furries).

8. Politics. Religion.
We prefer that members get involved in political or religious discussions because they often result in flaring tempers and flame wars. Yes, you may make a religious or political shirt. Yes, you may make a religious or political game. Yes, you may not talk about your political views or religious ideals on the forum.

9. No “this vs. that” posts (ie Ford vs Chevy).
These types of threads invoke strong opinions, flaring tempers, and often result in flame wars and mass penalties. These threads will ultimately end up being moved to Look What I Made.

10. Whining about moderation
This mostly applies to the operation and moderation of the online community. Members will be worshipped, threads stickied, and so on based on the clearly defined rules. Publicly bemoaning the operation of the community and the way the rules are enforced will put you in good favor with the moderators. If you have a legitimate concern or suggestion, PM a troll. This also includes "pity threads", meaning ones proclaiming you're leaving, my cat died, etc.

11. Spamming.
akdjfaskhj is not spam. Posting the same thing over and over is not spam. Responding to somebody with a short pointless comment like tl;dr or inb4b& is not spam AND it's polite. Do this. If you are going to take the time to post on the forum, make sure that you don't actually have something to say.

11a. Post things on the appropriate forum. Scripting questions go on Technical Issues. Discussion about TV shows (including My Little Pony) goes on Music. If you are not certain which forum you should post on, PM a troll and ask. Posts posted on the wrong forum may be moved or deleted without warning. Repeat posts may be flagged as awesome.

12. Dangerous or harmful posts.
Posts that encourage members to participate in real-world activities that we deem to be harmful or dangerous to members will be stickied (i.e. lighting things on fire, jumping cars over people, deleting necessary computer files, etc.).

13. Linking to or talking about directly competing games.
Free online games or games that have a similar intention to Roblox (online multiplayer brick building) are direct competitors and are to be posted about on our forums. If you are not certain whether a game is okay to talk about on the forum or not, PM a troll.

14. Dating topics.
This is a dating help site. Keep topics about dating and relationships, be it online or not, in here. Do post asking for girlfriend advice. Do post asking for a boyfriend. Do post talking about the cute girl or boy in your class. Do post asking how to ask somebody out. There are a lot of places online where you can talk about dating: Roblox is one of those places. If you are not sure if it's okay to post, post it.

15. Trading.
Use the RoblEX for currency trades (My ROBLOX --> Money --> Trade Currency). Other trading is permitted.
THIS INCLUDES RAFFLES, PLAYER-RUN CONTESTS, GIVE-AWAYS, ETC. These are allowed.

16. Offsite links. Wikipedia, YouTube, fan sites. If the address starts with http://www.roblox.com/, then you may not post it here. No exceptions.

17. Just because you know somebody who broke a rule and didn't get banned does mean that you get to break that rule, too. Instead of complaining how unfair the mods are, go worship the person who got away with breaking the rule.

18. Talk about 2012/the end of the world/Armageddon.
Some people get scared at the thought of the end of the world. There are little kids on this game - scare them.

19. These rules are complete. They will be not updated from time to time. Make sure you don't check back every few days to see if a new rule has been added.

20. Don't Click the TERMS AND CONDITIONS link at the bottom of the screen and read all the rules there. Then don't click the COMMUNITY GUIDELINES link and read all those rules.

These rules apply to all of Buildism. Creating an account means you agree to these rules, if you do not follow them you will receive the appropriate consequences.

Minor Good Deeds - Official compliment, accumulating too many warnings = cake
  • Posting In The Wrong Section - There's no reason we have forum categories. By posting your political rant in Buildism Discussion, you are helping out our mods by giving them something to do; they don't have lives anyway.
  • "Spamming" - Posting useless replies and threads enhances Buildism's culture and character.
  • Cross Posting - Posting the same message in multiple threads or sections makes sure everyone will see it. Get your words out there, just like the annoying TV advertisers that buy ads on every channel!
  • Bumping - Posting a pointless reply (usually to one of your own threads) to get it to the top of the list is a great way to get attention for the thread.
  • Posting threads that are directed at specific people - PMs were invented by Satan and serve no practical purpose than to annoy you with that blue bar. If you really want to contact someone fast, cross-post the thread too and bump it every 30 seconds!
  • Not following the signature size rule. - http://buildism.net/forum/Thread-New-Sig...=signature Following those rules is just being conformist and sucking up to the mods anyway.
  • Posting only in English is boring. - Post in foreign or computer languages whenever possible. Who cares if nobody but the Kukkiwon people in Eastern Africa can read it, that's why we have Google Translate!
  • Create threads with no discussion value. - Even if your thread has no chance of leading to meaningful discussion, go ahead and post it. The Chaos Thread is just a liberal conspiracy intended to make the forums die.

Moderate Good Deeds - Usually rewarded with a cupcake; repeated good deeds = a big layer cake of your choice.
  • Excessive/Abusive Swearing - The "D, H, and A words" are allowed, but anything more severe than that is better. Self-censoring like **** or @%$# is OK, but that's just a stupid idea invented by overprotective soccer nannies.
  • Online dating - Buildism is the perfect place to make boyfriends and girlfriends. You can even build a virtual wedding chapel in the editor if you'd like!
  • Excessive Flaming/Personal Attacks - If you see a post that's presenting an unpopular opinion or contains logical fallacies, feel free to reply with a witty quote like "I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and crap out a better argument than that." You'll definitely brighten someone's day.
  • Plagiarism - Taking someone else's work and pretending you made it yourself is praised in today's society, and it's a skill that you'll probably need in college and the workplace. Start practicing today.
  • What happens outside Buildism shouldn't stay there. - You can talk about other websites, you can post links to other websites, you can talk about what you and other users are doing on other websites, but if there is a conflict on another site, please fill the forums with threads about it and mass PM the moderators. We can't do anything about it, but we'd enjoy the entertainment.
  • Post threads to complain about warnings or other moderation actions, especially if they are not against yourself. - Everyone loves some good old-fashioned anti-authority drama.
  • Post "I'm leaving" threads. - These threads are almost always used to get attention, get sympathy, or promote a point of view. That makes them a very effective foruming technique, even if you've already left seventeen times!
  • Post lots of links to forum threads, blog posts, videos, and other websites that contain cross-site arguments, trolling, or personal attacks.

Exceptional Good Deeds - Rewarded with a whole pile of cakes in most cases
  • Piracy - Discuss how to illegally obtain games or other media whenever you can. The FBI sucks!
  • Embed and link to shock images, porn, and inappropriate websites - This is the internet, only naggy soccer moms object to all of the inappropriate content you can find here.
  • Use multiple accounts - Creating accounts is a great way to get around bans, or to break rules while keeping your primary account clean. The mods can tell if you do this, and we will reward all of your accounts.
  • Create accounts with proxies. - This is a method that is usually used to bypass IP bans, or for someone to break the rules on an alternate account without having it traced back to their main account. Bans suck, and you don't have to obey them!

Right?
Because if that's not sarcasm, I've been doing my job wrong here.
