How to get Textures for your place
#1
This page in the wiki explains the first bit: getting the texture you want.

Copy the URL of the texture you choose.

Next, go to your place. Get the block you want, and insert a Texture. Select the Image of the Texture, clear it, and press Ctrl+V. Then press enter. It MAY show up the way you want, but you might need to adjust the size of the block for it to show up right. However, when you stretch a part, make sure you cut (scissors icon, or right-click + Cut) the texture after you resize it, and then paste (Ctrl + V again, right-click + Paste, or clipboard icon) it back in.

Properties of Textures:
  • ShowPart: If the texture is transparent, having this set to 'true' will let the part's color show in the transparent part.
  • TileX and TileY: If these are set to 'true', the texture will 'repeat' or be 'cut', depending on the size of the texture and the size of the part.
  • FlipX and FlipY: Setting these to 'true' will turn the part, respectively, backwards and upside down.

Textures will work in Boxes, Circles, Water, Seats, and Ladders. To set a background image or Terrain image, you must select World or Terrain and use the properties there.
  • Background images: The BackgroundImage property of the World provides the background image of the game. Paste in the URL like you would in a Texture. Or, you can clear the URL and just use a color if you wish.
If the ScaleBackground property is set to 'true', the image will resize to fit the screen. If it is set to 'false' it will 'repeat'.
  • Terrain texture: First, you must make your terrain. Once you have done so, find the Terrain object in the game. Paste your texture in the Image property and your terrain is textured. It will 'repeat' throughout the Terrain.
