Would you guys like it if I made a boat for you to use?
Posted by: Qwertygiy - 06-13-2011, 08:03 PM - Forum: 2DWorlds Discussion - Replies (1)

I've already got a "motorboat" here, but would you like me to make it so that it looks "correct" when going left and right and make it as a model for the Showcase?

Well, in case you do, here's a canoe. Just walk into the sides to make it move.

What should I do about this thread?
Posted by: Login - 06-13-2011, 06:34 PM - Forum: Moderator Discussion - Replies (2)

http://buildism.net/forum/Thread-Litvyak...?pid=43494

I know it's a bad thread, but the reply by the user named in the thread seems to find it as a joke - so I think the thread itself is for their laughs.

Should I leave it up, or PM him about his word usage? If I do that, it ruins the whole point of the thread, and then makes it needing locked. Too strict, though, will lead to less users.

But, it has very very minor profanity. That's the part I'm questioning.

What would you guys think of Buildism being advertised?
Posted by: Login - 06-13-2011, 04:27 PM - Forum: 2DWorlds Discussion - Replies (6)

I feel users often don't have much people to talk to, and due to the age group (no offense, but it's natural! Even I have the urge at times!) patience is hard to master, so with less replies at a certain amount of time within your reply, the user will get off the forums. This means less activity.

Users can also feel a lot less communication due to lack of people. If Buildism was advertised on other sites, this would fix both above problems. But, this means Jacob_ risks losing money, as it costs a lot. Is it worth the risk, is the question.

As for money, advertising isn't a good source for money unless there is at least 100 people active a day. If I'm not correct, each ad view is equal to 5 cents (either that, or it was each click is 5 cents).

So, what do you think? Do you think that it would be a good idea to advertise the site, or wait up for more money, or just let it be like minecraft where they never advertised, but word spread via other sites?
