If there are going to be ads, they must be monitored. Ads on roblox gave me viruses.

ROBLOX never took away privileges...
IF anything they added some, before R$ was BC ONLY.

I'm going to put ads on the site within the next few months.
I estimate that the ads could make anywhere from $5 to $20 per day at current traffic levels, which is enough to pay for a good server. (currently we are using a shared hosting account, which is only temporary.)
There may be a membership eventually. It won't give you a large amount of additional features, but it will be very cheap, probably $20 a year.

No, they never could. Tshirts were introduced but you couldn't sell them and NBC can still make Tshirts.

Just make sure you double-check those ads, Jacob_. The virus-infected fake ads are no lie. They pretend to be some semi-useful ad but they redirect you to a fake MS Control Panel page saying that your computer is infected and you need to download an antivirus -- which is really malware.
So as long as we don't have any of those, I'm fine with it -- completely.
