Bits are the currency of Buildism -- they're pretty recent and just got added around a month ago.

I like the new interface, but as for using bits, couldn't you just take the image from another skin (part?) and republish it?

There aren't enough being made for that to be a problem though -- just a handful are made a day, so if one is spotted that copies another it shouldn't be too big of an issue deleting it and warning whoever copied.
