Hmm:

Bell was a British citizen for most of his early life. He applied for American citizenship after 1877, gained it in 1882, and referred to himself as an American citizen from that point on. Quote from Bell speaking to his wife: "you are a citizen because you can't help it – you were born one, but I chose to be one."

In 1915, he characterized his status as: "I am not one of those hyphenated Americans who claim allegiance to two countries." Despite this declaration, Bell has been proudly claimed as a "native son" by all three countries he resided in: the United States, Canada and Scotland.

To be overbearingly precise, an American of Scottish descent invented it shortly before becoming an ardent American citizen; IF he invented in the first place -- everyone's still arguing over whether he truly made it first or whether he just rushed to the patent office first.

Well guess what, Greece invented democracy, geometry, science, and other things.

They didn't invent true science; they invented philosophy but true science requires the scientific method; observe a phenomenon, create hypothesis, do experiment, examine results, modify or discard hypothesis as necessary.

The Greeks were awesome at the first two parts but they didn't do much experimenting.
