Are you working on some big project, and every now and then forget to back up and accidentally delete an important file or write something silly, wasting hours of work?

Well, it's about time you start using a Distributed Version Control System.

It tracks your changes, allows viewing the history of changes of files in your project, and allows for easy synchronizing to a remote server. It also makes it easy for many people to work on the project.

I use Mercurial for many of my projects.
