Any websites that knowingly provide services to people in America fall under United States law. Now, I've never heard of Taringa, so it may be safe; but sites hosted in Britain that are used by many Americans must follow American code.

But then again:
Website's hosted in America which break British laws can be viewed by Brit's with no penalty.

Wrong

If the site is hosted offshore but people who own the site live in america they can be prosecuted, otherwise America can call for an extradition but the country doesn't have to send America the person if they don't want to.
