And there are cheaper hard drives, too. I have about 70 GB in mine, which I don't know the exact price range for but you could probably get one for less than 25$.

I believe I've actually replaced those pieces multiple times on several desktops a few years back. If you do it right (a YouTube search ought to be able to show you how) it's not that difficult.
