Macs used to be easy to repair, but lately they've been making it more and more difficult so you have to pay them to do it.

Everyone says Microsoft is evil, but Apple is getting even worse...

At least they make a worthwhile OS.

The only reason Windows still exists is because of all the software support it gets.

You can also build your own PC.

I meant you can't buy OS X and then use it as the operating system for a custom rig.

Yes, that is an issue. It would be better if Apple didn't do that, but nonetheless it is a nice OS.

Do these hackintosh things work well?

I haven't got a look at the specs, but I imagine they're somewhat of an upgrade from the last model.

Apple designs all their products so that they're the only ones who can sell you the services for repair/new parts.
That way they can charge you whatever they want.
That's one of the reasons I hate them.

I've been saying this for years now. Apple is a bunch of restrictive idiots sitting around in an air-conditioned room thinking of new ways to charge their customers. Like EA, but on a somewhat smaller scale.
